--[CC] BR189 NL Soundmod-- --Important first:-- - Make a backup copy of this folder before you start:- Assets\VirtualRailroads\vR_BR189_VRot_EL\Elloks (Just copy the whole “Elloks” folder somewhere safe on your desktop. If something goes wrong, you can put it back.) What you need: TS-Tools (free program – google “TS-Tools Train Simulator” and grab the latest version) At least one DCR repaint for the BR189 (the ones with “DCR” or “MRCE” etc. in the name) Step by step – super simple: Go to this folder in your Train Simulator install: Assets → VirtualRailroads → vR_BR189_VRot_EL → Elloks Inside “Elloks”, find a folder for a DCR repaint (anything with “DCR” in the name works best). Open that folder → look for a file called BR189.bin (It might say something like BR189 MRCE.bin or BR189 DCR.bin – just pick one that looks right.) Right-click the BR189.bin file → “Open with” → choose TS-Tools. (Or open TS-Tools first, then drag the .bin file into it.) Once it’s open in TS-Tools, you’ll see a list/tree of stuff. Press Ctrl + F (or go to Edit → Search/Find in the menu). Type: Enginesound Hit Enter/Find – it should jump to the line with “Enginesound”. You’ll see a line that looks something like this: Audio\BR189-Audio.xml (or very similar) Change that whole line to exactly this: Elloks\DCR_components\Sounds\Engine\BR189-Audio NL.xml (Copy-paste it if you can – make sure there are no extra spaces!) Click File → Save (or Ctrl + S). TS-Tools usually makes a backup (.bak file) automatically – that’s good. Done with that one file? Now repeat steps 3–7 for every other BR189.bin file you want to change (all the different liveries/versions like MRCE, Dispolok, etc. – just search the Elloks folder for every file ending in BR189.bin and do them one by one). That’s literally it! Close TS-Tools, restart Train Simulator, load up the BR189 → you should now hear the Dutch/NL engine sounds. If it doesn’t work: Double-check you typed/pasted the new path exactly (no missing slash, no extra space, capitals matter). Make sure the folder DCR_components actually exists inside Elloks. Update TS-Tools if it’s acting weird.
