ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
Is it possible to modify the Chris Trains Class 186 locos so the brake handle springs back from B+ to Const?
Like on the Class 66/266 when you apply the brakes and reduced the pressure to say 4 bar you let go and it springs back to "lap"
I have to try and look at the Brake Handle and the view ahead when you place the Brake Handle to B+ it does not keep lowering the pressure.
Could something be modified in the .bin file?
Thanks
Peter

Re: ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
I asked Chris of ChrisTrains and he kindly replied that it was not possible to change the brakes to act PBL Style
Oh well...

Re: ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
As a footnote I found by changing a single number in the loco bin file it no longer goes in to Emergency/SOS
At least I can drive the loco without having emergency stops

Re: ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
Would you be so kind to share that single number and the file it's in?
I'm running into the same issues with accidentally applying SOS mode (emergency brakes) due to occasional input lag between my machine and the DaaS that I use to run TS2021.
Thanks in advance

It is a quick change to do but you have to do each loco separately
I just used Notepad and Serz
Double Click on the CT NS Class 186.bin and it creates CT NS Class 186.xml
Open the xml version in Notepad and search for VirtualBrake
You will find this section
<ControlName d:type="cDeltaString">VirtualBrake</ControlName>
<DefaultValue d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</DefaultValue>
<MinimumValue d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="00000000000008C0" d:precision="string">-3</MinimumValue>
<MaximumValue d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000040" d:precision="string">2</MaximumValue>
On this line change the value from 2 to 1
<MaximumValue d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000040" d:precision="string">1</MaximumValue>
Save the file and close it > Right Click on this xml file and Open With Serz
That writes the instruction back to the main file and the date/time change
Give the loco a run
Just a slow job if you have the DCR Repaint to do as well

Re: ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
Thanks! This works! Now to the tedious job of going through all the repaints...
To everyone reading along: the CT NS Class 186.bin file recides in each of the \Version_* folder inside \Assets\ChrisTrains\NS Class 186 and ICRmh wagons\RailVehicles\CT NS Class 186\
====
Voor iedereen die meeleest, het CT NS Class 186.bin bestand staat in elk van de \Version_* map binnen \Assets\ChrisTrains\NS Class 186 and ICRmh wagons\RailVehicles\CT NS Class 186\

Re: ChrisTrains 186 - Brakes
For some reason this Fix to stop the brake handle going to emergency does not work any more.
The Brake handle will spring back out of Emergency if you go that far
But there is nothing to stop you accidentality going to the Emergency Position.
Any ideas please
Peter
